Paul Ramat

Research Intern

Paul is a Research Intern at the Advisory Board for the Arts. He is currently a student in the Master in Management (Grande École) program at ESSEC Business School, where he specializes in Finance and Strategy, after spending a few months in Singapore.

He also holds a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Sorbonne Université, with a strong focus on geopolitics and global economic dynamics. There, he wrote a research thesis on the intersection of diplomacy, economic intelligence, and the energy sector, further strengthening his interest in strategic analysis and long-term decision-making.

Prior to joining ABA, Paul completed a six-month internship in the Strategy team of TotalEnergies, one of the world’s leading energy companies, where he worked on strategic monitoring tools, portfolio analysis, and data-driven insights in a highly international environment. He gained experience as an analyst, strengthening his ability to research complex topics, synthesize information, and communicate strategic insights clearly.

With an initial academic background in humanities - including literature, philosophy, and art history - Paul has developed a strong interest in the intersection of culture, strategy, and collective intelligence. He is particularly interested in how data and comparative insights can help arts organizations navigate governance, sustainability, and audience-related challenges.

Based in Paris, Paul is passionate about the arts, cultural ecosystems, and cities, with a particular interest in the United States and its cultural landscape. He is excited to contribute to ABA’s research work and to support arts leaders across geographies.
